Soapmaking Classes
I have over 8 years of teaching experience at the college level. (My M.A. is in Technical Writing.) It was only natural for me to incorporate that into my soapmaking business. We don't study grammar or write papers. We just have fun making soap.

You will learn by participating in making your own 1.5-2 lb. batch of soap to take home. (This batch will take 3-4 weeks to set.) We will be using a 19th century soap recipe. Add herbs/botanicals to your soap if you wish. Some will be provided. Learn how to color your soap naturally.

Participants must bring a stainless steel pot (a stock pot works well) or a glass pot for stovetop use, a stainless steel spoon, and 2 old towels for insulating your soap mold. (Molds are included.) Please Note: aluminum pots and spoons are not usable because the aluminum reacts with the lye.
